An imposing line up. The two in the middle arrived and landed together, one on the concrete and one on the grass alongside. Very impressive to watch. I believe at least one - possibly two - more were due to arrive for the display:

Mk.I Spitfires, a Hurricane and Buchon down near the HAC hangars. Only the Buchon got airborne while I was there:

The Army Air Corps was there with this Apache. One of the crew was an Australian ( the bloke half way along with the hat ):

The F-15A is getting a new coat of paint in readiness for going inside the AAM when the big refurbishment project starts. The P-51 from the IWM at Lambeth is getting similar treatment and is to be a permanent Duxford resident:

Also from the Lambeth is this well known bit of Halifax. A lot of stuff has been moved out of the main London museum because its being reconfigured to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of WW1. The Lancaster nose is up here too, but I couldn't find it on Friday:

DHC Twin Otter VP-FAZ of the British Antarctic Survey, which has its headquarters in Cambridge. She's been flying around this area over the last few weeks, so presumably she is waiting out the Antarctic winter up here. Not the first BAS aircraft I've seen at Duxford - their Dash 7 was there a few years ago. I wonder if it would be possible to get hold of the flight plans for VP-FAZ's trip up from the Antarctic. There is a very nice repaint for the Aerosoft model, and it would be a heck of a journey to recreate. I might contact the BAS, or even drop into their offices:

Thats the beauty of Duxford - it's such an active airfield that you never know what you're going to see.
