208 Squadron in Kenya...

Post by petermcleland »

Some time ago I compiled a little booklet on this subject and I have now finished printing and distributing it to surviving squadron members. I have just made a Powerpoint slide show of the booklet and here is one of the 150 slides:-

The slideshow is mainly about people and places and many of the pictures have been shown on this site. However, for anyone who is interested, I have uploaded the presentation (100 MBs) and it can be downloaded from here:-

The download will take at least 5 minutes and you must have Microsoft's Powerpoint to view it...A free download of Powerpoint Viewer can be obtained here:-

Thanks for looking :)

I love those Peter! I remember the first time I flicked through your site as you experience the start of the jet age. This presentation is superb and makes me wish it was me! Thanks for sharing... again  :)

Thanks Rick and Ben...I'm very pleased that you enjoyed it...This powerpoint thing is new to me and here on my machine it plays a very nice CD track with the first 20 or so slides. However, I have not yet discovered how to export the music with the presentation *-)

Hi Peter,

I think the trick is to burn the CD track as an wma file and then embed that into the presentation rather than copy from CD. Might be worth a try :cpu:

Ben,

That is exactly what I did and works just fine, but only on my machine...It does not seem to stick with the file when I copy it away to somewhere else...Hang on, I will upload the wma file into the same folder as the presentation and see if that works :tunes:

Edit...Yes! That works fine now :)
