Poor old girl. :-( G-BOAD flew for Braniff (under the reg N94AD when flown in the US) for a short time back in the late 70's. She was quite a sight to see in the Texas skies back then.

I think it was only G-BOAF and 'G that didn't fly for Braniff as the interchage was over by the time they were delivered.

Shane there was so much opposition to routes BA and AF wanted to fly in conjunction with other carriers :-(

Ah yes N94AD that appeared back over here each time as G-N94AD, along with her sisters with similar registrations.

Although there are suggestions that G-BOAF was also G-N94AF, there are no photos around unlike the other five BA Concordes with hybrid registrations - perhaps an intention that did not happen.

Yeh, the East Fortune Comet looks in pretty good shape in the photos I took a couple of years ago too, but the reality was a bit different. I'm a bit concerned about the reports of peeling paint and birdsh*t, and the fact that there seems to be little funding available to do anything about it.

:o I wasn't aware that there was more than one Concorde flown here in the US. Thanks for the info. Back in those days it always amazed me that anyone would want to travel from Washington DC to Dallas on Concorde. I mean one minute you're streaking along at Mach 2 over the Atlantic, and before you know it you find yourself putt-putting along subsonically over corn fields. :-( Kind of like using a race horse to pull a milk wagon, if you ask me.

Indeed. And on some other forum's our American friends reckon we are over reacting as its "Just an airplane that doesn't even fly anymore"
