prehaps one of the worthies on EP can shead some light on a practice Invicta used to use -- I clearly remember seeing them motor all four engines before lighting off #2 - any idea what that was for?

Hi Leif,
Only reason I can see to motor the engines prior to star up, is the Tyne, if left idle too long, had a nasty habit of the contents oil tank draining down into the R/H wheel case, the motoring cycle allowed the oil to be pumped back to the tank, must admit we never used this practice at Air Bridge.
Dave,
Would be prudent to drain the R/H wheel case before you attempt a start, it's bound to be flooded after such lenghty period of standing idle, quite simple to do, just pull the little stainless plug, it's situated just forward of the main oil pressure filter.
Robbie.
