Francois, given the number of models, the paint schemes and the time it all took, I'm amazed Simon kept a grip on this huge project as well as he did. It really is quite an achievement. Oh and by the way, I now have a new favourite seaplane. :) I think I'll be having a crack at repainting that one, when the paint kits are out. Imperial Airways's regional budget airline maybe.

François.. that was my bad re the 13 float planes. It was Warhorse47's post.. he didn't see the float version. 2 missing lines in the config apparently but he's there now ;) Having just read his second post, the config says.. It was used for training new crews in waterborne techniques before they graduated onto the Squadron's Sutherlands.

I think that should read 'Sunderlands' ;) A very very small point and one I'm sure I'd have missed had I not read WH47's post. It will have been taken as read anyway :cpu:

Hi Everyone,

I just got the new Avro yesterday. So far, I'm impressed by the many different models and the generally good external visuals. However, I'm having issues with the sound and was wondering if anyone else has been experiencing the same problems. *-)

More specifically, the engine sounds as heard from inside the cockpit. I'm oberving three distinct problems:
1) There is no directional sound, i.e. while turning one's "head" inside the VC the sound of the engines remains in place relative to the view. This seems strange as this is not the case in any other aircraft I've tried. Also, while changing the view does not do anything about the sound, moving one's eyepoint, or moving about in the cockpit to any position other than the default one, produces very weird sound effects. It's hard to describe but it sounds as if the stereo mix was messed up (left/right channel don't seem to "fit together").
2) At high RPMs (>2200) the engine sounds make a very sudden transition during which much of the frequency spectrum is lost. For lack of a better description, the "chop-chop" sound of the props disappears completely and only the engine's low rumble remains audible. I'm aware that this "blurring" of sound is something that happens in reality, but here it is too extreme and too sudden of a transition.
3) The engine sounds in general appear to be, well, of not particularly good quality. I don't expect every developer to provide the same sound quality as A2A does with their accusim products, but here the sounds resemble a highly compressed version of an already poor recording... Of course it is entirely possible that my ears are the problem, heh.

Now I'm wondering if there is something wrong with my installation, or whether this is "just the way it is". Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated... :)
Cheers,
Steve

PS - I'm using P3D 2.3, and have used the corresponding installer from the download. As I have never experienced any of the problems mentioned above with any other aircraft, I think it's safe to assume that my system is set up more or less correctly.
