Re: Sale on Virtavia products
Yea sorry about that Dave, not sure what happened ref moving the 54' cab to the FSX section, I must talk to Steve and have him help me update the page, I have a Prestwick SAR flight to go there too. I was also working on a less aggressive bump map for the Sea King, which along with the aircrew, and 6 bladed tail rotor Mk1 with a Barn Door was the only major bug bear i had of the Virtavia Sea King.DaveB wrote: Fraser was going to repost this again but he obviously doesn't have 5mins to spare!![]()

You are however right about that spare 5mins, real life has somewhat got in the way this past 8 months with family and worse still work having the audacity of having me put in more than my fair share of hours and travel. The company I work for acquired the Meccano brand from the French owners who have run it since leaving UK ownership in 1979, I am now heading up the Design for that which has somewhat zapped my time. I have just returned from a two week around the world trip trying to finalise the Spring 2015 product line, talking of which it started at "Maker Faire" in San Fransisco where a chap from another booth saw my Meccano T-Shirt and started talking to me, long story short he was the Ships Photographer in Blake 70-72, we're you serving in her then? He sent a PDF of the commissioning book for her Far East Tour, which was great to read as after San Fran and a week in the UK & France I headed on to Hong Kong arriving home yesterday, running along the harbour in the morning it's always great to imagine these great RN ships in the harbour.
I do however have a newly built rig at home this past two months with some healthy specs so I intend to get the final Vic model out very soon. I have not yet even re-installed the Sea King (or any Flying Stations products for that matter) on my new machine, I am not traveling now until July so thankfully have a few weeks to get around to it.
Back to the '54' I really must change the tail code from CU to R too.
Ok I apologise now for this jet lagged 2am waffle!
Cheers,
Fraser

Rgr that Fraser

Re HMS Blake.. she'd not long come back from the States (in the grand scale of things) when I joined her in '74. Think I saw her alongside in Malta with a shed load of minesweepers in close proximity when I was on Hermes for Dawn Patrol '74. Didn't realise then that she'd be my next draft a few weeks later! Those were the days hey

I know the 54 cab is painted as it was when it joined Ark but hadn't twigged the tail lettering

Nice to have you back in circulation again

ZB.. blimey, not come across that one
I've just been on an assortment of SeaKing sites and found a couple that could possibly fit the bill though no pictures of either (wouldn't that be the case)
I'll see if I can find one of 506

Re: Sale on Virtavia products
OK.. I'm confused as to your RAE era
. ZB506 belongs to QinetiQ who in reality fly from Boscombe as far as I can see (no flying ops from the old RAE Bedford). I don't even know if QinetiQ still have a presence at Bedford.

Re: Sale on Virtavia products
Hi mate, she was definitely their pre QinetiQ days. Like the Tonka, she may have been a Boscombe aircraft that "lived" at Bedford. Out and about at the moment (Sainsburys for lunch) but I'll dig some pics out.

Ben.
