Ha! You started the turn about 3 seconds too soon So you're not perfect after all
Other than that - what another fantastic piece of video, Ed. I haven't the faintest idea how you create such amazingly realistic clips. It's way beyond anything I'd ever consider attempting. The panel is superb and it looks so much like the real thing it's extraordinary. I loved the shot from the passenger window of the lights of Kowloon on finals. It really is just like being there.
OK - that's me sorted out for the next couple of hours. I'm dusting off a 707 and doing some circuits at VHHX at dusk to see if I can nail the start of that turn.

stop it...stop it right now
AND ... I saw dramas! A senior VC10 Captain who had it perfect until he drifted out a little bit wide and didn't get lined up until well down the runway and the FO looking worriedly at him and asking anxiously "All right?". I wasn't the only one who thought they were going to get their feet wet.
Funniest was in a 744. The (very) SFO was landing from Manila in windy weather and his young daughter was in the front jump seat and I was in the back. The atmosphere was tense as we approached the checkerboard and the AP was disengaged. Just as we approached the turning point a little voice said "Daddy?" and the two pilots turned in unison and shouted "Shut Up!". The rest of the landing was accompanied by the sound of a young girl's sobbing and she was still in tears as we got into the crew bus. That cost him a few bob in the market next day
Nev - cheers for that, mate. We can get a bit naive and trusting chuffing up and down the rural branch lines. We don't get the cutting edge experience of battling the commuters into Waterloo.
