Got the prompt from Java yesterday (21st) saying an update was available so I downloaded and installed it (I let Java download and install it). Everything looked fine but the pc remained on all day so it's possible that any 'nitty gritty' changes didn't happen until the restart today.
Turned the pc on this morning and started browsing the forum (as you do) and while watching the new 1-11 soundfile vid linked from the main forum, I got a BSOD. Unusual for this pc.. they're so rare they're non-existant. The pc restarted and an error box threw up stating that MS anti-Malware had had a problem.. they appologised for the inconvenience e t c. No problem. Seconds later, a further BSOD. No error box on restart this time. Went back online.. another BSOD

Did a quick scan with MSE and nothing popped up. Had a look in event viewer and nothing conclusive there. Reports sent to MS but there was 'no information' regarding this fault. There never is is there

I can't put hand on heart and say 100% that the latest Java update has been the cause but it sure looks like it. Not sure either how this would effect Win Vista or Win7/8 users. For sure.. WinXP SP3 doesn't like it so please use caution when deciding to accept this update.
EDIT: I've just checked what's sitting in the systray and the update causing the problem (I believe) is Java 7 update 15
