Hi Ben :hello:

Is it not possible it didn't have runways lights???

Nothing apparent on the FF of the Vanguards and I'd think they'd show in those conditions *-)

Hi mate, apparently there was some sort of lighting, possibly later? I'm hoping the Stephen Skinner book will shed some light (excuse the pun)

The approach to RW10 seems to have had 4 rows of lights, same on RW 28, but no idea what type.

There's edge lighting on the landing roll.

just had a look at En Route Supplement 1970 and evidently it had Goosenecks / portable flares + 'Runway or Strip Lighting' + VASIs.

That's a lift from another site.

Plus some Wisley footage amongst this

Cheers mate. I'm a member over at AIX too, so spotted that thread. Id love to get plates for it (and Radlett) but the earliest OS that its mapped on seems to be '72 when it closed and there's no mention of it in Pooleys so not sure where id get them.

Hi Chaps :hello:

This is a straight forward ISv2 question..

You will have seen around the forum that I've been adding stuff to Old Warden and Kinloss. Having posted the couple of shots of OW.. I returned later to find some of the statics weren't there *-) Just in case.. I popped up to Kinloss and most of what I'd added was also missing :-O So.. I went into IS (in sim) and selected 'open bgl' (for Kinloss).. the scenery files rewrote and up popped the rest of the statics. The same with OW.

Question is.. why did that happen? :dunno:

When you add an object, IS asks add to a particular bgl or another.. you can't just add them willy-nilly without them going anywhere. Both bgl's were in Addon Scenery/Scenery which shouldn't.. as far as I can see.. have mattered. I've since put them into respective scenery folders.. ie, my Kinloss statics now live in the Kinloss scenery folder and my OW statics live in UK2KVFR part 2/scenery. This for some reason seems to make a difference but I don't know why. With the other odds and sods I've added around the West Midlands.. their bgl's live in Addon Scenery/Scenery and they work fine *-)

No idea mate. TBH ISv2 is ok, but its a pain the arse much of the time as I still find myself going into Whisplacer to amend the BGL. I always use a separate BGL for the scenery objects, but the only thing I can think of is that it hadn't finished saving or compiling the bgl before you exited the program? *-)

Hello Mate :hello:

I wish to goodness I knew. I've just been back and everything was where it should be with the bgl in UK2KVfr Vol2 (the OW scenery that is). I've pulled a couple of models to fit the Sea Hurricane in.. it's not particularly 'static' friendly being over 40k. Been back and checked and it's there along with the others :worried:

Hereby hangs another question. I've just used SAMM2 for the first time to get the Sea Hurri as a static. It worked, surprisingly enough, but I only had a single texture (DB's) and it wasn't the one I wanted. So.. I went back into SAMM and chose model title P8 which is the Sea Hurri. Boy.. did I get some error warnings or what :-O Anyhoo.. I got my Sea Hurri in the end  My question is.. when you're saving the model.. it asks about shadows.. default, none or custom. I saved it with default and looked in the model window (where you can spin it round) and it had a lovely ground shadow. This isn't appearing in FSX so my Sea Hurricane sits there 'Vampire like' not casting a shadow where everything around it does. Any idea why?

I'm regretting playing with this already

Not sure mate, I use MCX to make statics, but sounds like the static hasn't been compiled with shadows enabled or something *-)

Sorry, that's not much help is it :)
