Oh Yes Dave...Proper steam gauges are real works of art...I enjoy looking at the fine details on the real ones, such as the actual shape of the needles and their little balancing pieces or counter weights that are sometimes painted black so that you can't see them easily. A really good FS 2D gauge is similarly a work of art and some of the best I ever saw were made by Roy Chaffin for his DC3.
