Not bad scenery there Dave, though the slope from the beach up to the houses is a tad steep compared to the real thing

& it needs a small portacabin next to the pad with this on it

I like that last shot

To be honest mate, I'm not entirely sure the Scotflight scenery did anything for the island itself other than put some bits and bobs on it. Looking at phots of the real thing (so intrigued was I by the place, I went and found out more).. the helicopter pad in Scotflight is a darned sight smaller than it should be. The real pad looks like quite a sizeable (sizeable in the grand scale of things) concrete area and not a tiny square Scotflight gives you to land on. The scenery puts the RAF's aerials in place and a few associated buildings I didn't take shots of and all in all, it's not a bad representation. Reading about it, it can be a nightmare for pilots and is certainly not a destination for a pilot who's not flown there with an experienced pilot before. :-O

Try Benbecula and Stornaway

I've flown many times from Glasgow to Benbecula on business trips in Loganair 340s and the scenery is spectacular. Landing approach from the south is over a hill and is quite good. I did try to get a flight from Glasgow to Barra then on to Benbecula in the Twotter but it was always full.

I've flown it in the virtual world and its not bad at all. I think I have Scotflight and GenX scenery western isles and it is a very good representation.

Happy simming.

Actually I think I'll make my way to the flight sim room and have a go with the Optica.

Regards

John
Did the twotter flight last month. I was the only passenger on the Benbecula Barra leg. VFR visibility all the way down. Try winter, chancy with the weather but more likely to get a seat. Came up on the SAAB got an extra half hour as we had to circle whilst they deiced the runway at Benbecula.

I had trouble getting the Super Puma on it let alone a Wokka. Think I'd be forced to put a Wokka down on the beach ;)
