Good Morning,

Sorry if this is really in the wrong place but as the post has continued i thought i would post these pics,

Could anyone shed any light on these first two pictures ,its 1/1/2 [one and a half inch square] made for the Eighth DC-10 Delivery from Mcdonnell Douglas and the date is April 1981, made in clear resin,

This third one, i was flying for British Caledonian Virtual with the DC-10 and my Daughter saw this hat on E-Bay and bought it for my birthday when i was Sixty, i must admit the wife thought it over the top and i remember her saying "your not going to wear that Hat while flying on you Pooter"

No Honest i did'nt!,

Cheers,

Roger.

A bit of a shot in the dark Roger but there were 25 aircraft delivered to various airlines in '81. BCAL had a fleet of 10 in total so I'm guessing that the little 'gizzit' was given by MD to commemorate the 8th aircraft delivered. There may well be similar mementoes in existance saying First through Tenth/Final DC10 delivery :)

There were three A.320's that wore BCAL livery

One prototype was painted one side only and the first two BCAL airframe flew in full BCAL livery under F-W test registration before being repainted in BA for delivery

BA's only pure freighter 747F was G-KILO

The three 800F are not BA but Global Supply Systems a part of Atlas Air, who operate for BA and the new 800F are in BA livery whereas the earlier -400F were in Global Supply Systems livery.
