Dave, regarding the PD Lancaster, have you tried the prop textures from the recently FSX-ified freeware Alphasim Halifax ? I used them on the wondrous Lancastrian with fair results..I certainly haven't looked round for any other ones since then. :)

Hi Paul..

No.. for some reason, I've not pulled the FSXified files yet but I will do so. The Lanc uses the Lancastrian prop texture so it should work fine with both ;) I realise also that the Hampden textures won't work on the Harvard.. the Harvard only has 2 blades :(

Ben.. I've just tried to post a couple of pictures and got this.. It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image. Both images were 1024xXXX (smaller than allowed) so I resized them down to 1000xXXX and got the same message *-)

Are you committed to the AS T6/Harvard Dave? The reason I ask is that Warwick 'Wozza' Carter did a fantastic freeware one that's FSX native (fsds_t-6.zip at FlightSim.com).

I have it and the payware Sky Unlimited one but my first pick is Wozza's every time.

No Larry.. not really. It's a simple case of I have the Alpha model (waste not, want not and all that jazz) :) I'll take a look at Warwick's model.. perhaps the textures off that will fit ;)

I've been visiting FSX :OB: a lot recently and have populated it with as many FSX Alpha models as I can find. However, some have really ropey props.. the Texan/Harvard is one.. the Hampden is another. Did anyone out there get the prop updates for these? Reading bits and bobs on the web, it seems that some of the FSX 'versions' were pre-SP2 and this accounts for the ropey props (prop blur I'm talking about).

If anyone has decent looking prop blur textures on either of the above, I'd appreciate copies please. I am, of course, a fully paid up member of the club but I've only really used the FS9 versions thus far which is why I missed getting the FSX updates before Alphasim disappeared 8)

I'm not sure where Escondido, Ca, is mate unless it's near the central reservation of the M62

I've farted around with it so much over the last couple of days, the original is starting to look good  I downloaded the WC model though I've not loaded it.. just tried the prop textures. TBH, for the amount of use I give it.. the Alpha model is just fine, despite some inaccuracies which were picked up by T6Flyer (I can't even remember what they were!). It looks like a Harvard, it flies ok and it sounds ok ;)

Now.. Escondido, Ca *-)
