The Vulcan nose leg was extended to give better liftoff with the low power engines available at the time (if only they could have used the 301 oylumpus engines fitted to the late B2's they go off like a scolded cat) :)

Yep :agree: by increasing the angle of attack to improve lift..the same reason as all the others mentioned :)

have sorted the canopy now looks right
Image
noticed the last big weak link was the intake area not being smooth so sorted that too
Image
had a look at the textures for the B1 version too XA890

can you see any more bits that need working on?
thinking about adding a 2D panel to it as well

Hi Doug :hello:

Since you ask :hide:

The fin & rudder need reworking, wrong size and shape

The tail cone is too long and pointed..perhaps accentuated by the small tail

The wing looks to have problem polys

The nose need smoothing and reshaping

Hard to tell but the canopy seems too humped??

Are you on SKYPE?

A small question, more to do with the texture than the model. Are the roundels meant to look a bit faded like that?

As for the model, Garry is far better than myself at spotting such things, but I think the tail needs to be changed a bit. Looking very good though :).

The marking are the anti flash which were like that.....can't vouch for the RGB but it looks about right. *-)

Cool thanks will recheck all the above I did the new canopy against a photo so it's prob the only true proportion on the model
The poly's on the wings are giving me trouble the only way around that particular problem seems to be to use smoothing sparingly and combine it with unsmoothed poly's I am still learning the workarounds on FSDS it's not exactly autocad level software but then it didn't cost as much
Thanks for the feedback the model is coming on very fast from where it started off

I did check the textures against the colour photos I could find the model is the main focus at the moment once that's right I can do the repaints at leisure
