HS748 cockpit woes

Re: HS748 cockpit woes
No more cockpit woes, have had some great test flights. Downloaded the Viscount but noticed that I started with the later pack. Once I get the earlier pack and change the lines and copy the views etc, I should be good to go. I was not getting any VC on the Viscount. I think that it is because of my incorrect download sequence. I did change the lines in all panel config as per the readme file. So lets see. Please forgive my questioning as I'm still learning.

Alas, I cannot get VC on the Viscount Somewhere I'm doing something wrong and I'm probably gonna kick myself.

Hi Parksie
The Viscount doesn't have a VC. The model was originally built for FS2002

Re: HS748 cockpit woes
Before you go completely bald Parksie, neither the Vanguard or Herald have VC's nor the Viking, Valetta or Varsity for that matter
Ricks first VC was on the JP5 and all models from that point (Meteor, Chipmunk, Argosy, 748/780, Hawk have one
DM's One-Eleven, Trident and Comet have VC's.. the VC10 doesn't (yet)
Dave Garwoods Anson, Rapide, Hunter and Auster all have VC's.. anything before that probably not.
Derek Palmer.. none of his releases have a VC thus far.
I think that's it but I keep remembering models as I'm typing

Re: HS748 cockpit woes
Dave, thanks for the heads up. good to know. Will be looking at the BAC 1-11 and exploring all the other great machines here. and will certainly be knocking on doors or popping in for advice or a chat and pointing a few of my flying friends across the world in this direction.

Re: HS748 cockpit woes
You're welcome Parksie
As it happens, our old forum lived down in Cape Town some years ago when the host site we used here died the death of a thousand cuts. Many of us were involved with the Shackleton Project and the project team leader (Henk Hugo) very kindly made us welcome on his site until we got this place sorted so it's kind of a second home to many of the 'old salts'
The vast majority of the models from here are all well established and the only problems arise are from porting to newer sims (FS9 to FSX) or using older sims on newer operating systems. Some of us remain in dinosaur mode but there are enough who move with the times to be able to offer support in that area

Parksie, go and get David Maltbys One Eleven!
And then take three weeks off for holidays!
With these two you'll have enough fun to spend an extended XMas vacation...
All the best,
Nick

Re: HS748 cockpit woes
Hi Nick, I am planning just that. Checked it out, but have absolutely no clue what to download, there seems so much and it does not seem like complete packages. I also worry when I see FS2004. Although I see that later aircraft are ok on FSX, I'm always scared and I've made the mistake of downloading a few unsavoury craft that have caused my whole set up to crash and had endless problems with getting things working again. Another reason why I like this forum. You are all so helpful to 'cadets" such as myself that know how to fly, but am still learning how to get things working right. If my questions seem silly I do apologise. But yeah I've got 5 weeks of lovely vacation ahead with not much to do than a lot of flying. So any suggestions an pointers are welcome. Thank you to all for your support and making one fee welcome and part of something great.
