What's happening to you AGP 6800GT Dave?? You want to sell it?

Hi Jim..

No mate.. it's in the XP3200 at the mo and this has become my 'day to day' pc since the XP2400 was retired. There's still very little on the E8400 system as I'd only just started using it full time when it let go! 8) If you can find one at a good price, snap it up.. it's probably the best card I've ever had.. ATi9700Pro coming in a decent second. Both these cards punch well above their weight and can transform a so-so system into something rather more ;)

A good end to an interesting journey Dave - now for FSX ;)

Seriously though - sounds like a motherboard I might invest in (got to have something to aim for for Christmas); the current one aint bad but in aint that good either.

Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris..

Yup.. an interesting and expensive journey! :D I haven't delved into a fraction of what the motherboard is capable of doing and probably never will. Overclockers would love it as would those with more HD's than money and the only conceivable drawback I can see is for users who want to go DDR3 as this isn't supported. The new PSU is guaranteed for 5 years which suits me and the E8400 is exactly what I expected ;) The only disappointment has been the £2.48 ps2 to USB male A adapter which came today and doesn't appear to work 8) This is no great hardship but means I need 2 mice.. one for the KVM and one for the new system. Not sure if it's because the mouse is already USB and uses the included USB-PS2 male adapter to fit the KVM front panel.. the rear being PS2 so it's going USB to PS2 to PS2 out to PS2/USB in that's the issue but there you go. Plug it into the back via the KVM lead and don't get a dong-ding. Plug the USB mouse directly into the PC and I get the dong-ding. I know the PS2 mouse IN on the KVM lead works so it's either the adapter or the fact that this is one conversion too many

FSX.. well, yeh.. FSX runs ok but for me, FS9 runs better and that's the important thing
