Left home on Monday morning and arranged to pop in and see Derek (Delp) of Dove fame, really great to see him again after such a long time, the last we saw of each other was at Coventry Airport. Had a good talk and a nice welcomed cup of coffee but unfortunately time just flew by and we had to hit the road. So once again, many thanks for your hospitality Derek.

The first day we spent looking around Babacombe, foolishly we decided to walk thinking it was not far from where we were staying....wrong!! I guess we spent quite a few hours moving from one place to the other i.e. model village and the caves before walking back into Torquay then treking to the theatre in the evening.
Following day saw us in Brixham and Dartmouth followed by a visit to Paington Zoo the very next day. There were many places that we wished to visit but with only three full days to ourselves that does restrict ones' visits especially where a long drive is involved.
The weather could not have been more perfect for October, well into the sixties.
Anyway, enough of the chatter.
One could imagine that this was taken in some far-away exotic location, just the position when taking the photograph gives that appearance.

Looking across the Bay towards Torquay

My wife does not like having her photograph taken as you can see from her expression!! (Boy, am I in trouble if she finds out I posted it)

Taken Dartmouth, Babs was looking forward to going on the ferry as she enjoys boating trips but was somewhat mortified that it only took about five minutes to complete the crossing.

Finally the last one, taken at Paignton Zoo and just could not resist taking a photograph, the Meerkats are one of my favourites so tell me.... how can you ignore such a pose? He or is it a she just kept on coming up to me all the time and giving me this look!!

Next year hope to save up enough and go to Cornwall for a week.
Regards
Nigel.
