Vanguard Number 4 Engine not firing up

Post by ewandougie »

Hi

Im having a bit of a problem with the Vanguard, when I start up the A/C (running) I shut everything down (HP cocks off, and the battery master off) . However when I come to fire her up, I am having trouble starting engine number 4 :-o 1,2,3 fire up first time no problems, but when I repeat the procedure for number 4, nothing happens, when I flick the start switch (on the latest panel) nothing happens, the ignition switch refuses to light up, and nothing else happens??

Am I missing something here?

Thanks

Ewan

That should sort you out :)

Hi Ewan

I'm not sure if this is critical but are you starting in the correct sequence.. eg, 3,4,1,2  Also.. are you in FS9 or the new pretender??

All HP off.. all start/off to start.

Igniter ON.. eng 3 start/Relight to START. As engine spools up, HP for no.3 to OPEN.

Continue sequence with 4, 1 and 2. When all engines spooled up.. 3 start/off to off followed by 4 then 1 then 2. Igniter to OFF.

That should be you up and running at high ground beta. Not sure what FSUIPC I'm running but it has to be a new one otherwise FSA would kick me out.

Hello Mate

Ewan sorted the problem with the panel and is all tickerty-bo now ;-)

Re starting.. yes, BEA started 4,3,2,1.. a pax config handy for late arrivals to enable the FD crew to get the ball rolling and conditioning to be started (the pax entry being on the LH side hence 2 and 1 being the last to be started. This also gave them the greatest possible time to ensure freight was loaded in the hold. In freighter config, the goalposts moved.. no pax joining from the LH side but with the possible necessity of livestock being carried and the aircon unit being only on eng 3 (it was removed off eng 2 as a weight saving measure).. the start sequence was modified to suit :)

To be honest, it shouldn't really matter. I always start in freighter config (no need to ask why) and I believe this is how Fraser listed it in the readme/panel manual ;-)
