Hi Tweek

something to do with the way the framerate needs to be in synq with the refresh rate.

especially on TFT monitors.

can't remember where i saw this but it definately helped me.

Thanks Rick, I think I went for 26 because that is the (suposedly) slowest that the human eye can not detect changes! I will play around a bit later!

There is something called verticle sync which can have a marked effect as well :think:

Don't remember the details but I guess it's all a case that if they are not optimum the system has to convert to display and slow itself up.

Actually, having just bought Ricks Hawk in a box and played with the bomblets, not only did I have no problems with frame rates but was also able to drop them quite happily in free flight! No need for a mission at all. Even got the splash as they hit the water :dancer:

Well after a weekend of actually 'enjoying' FSX (albeit with UK2000 and Horizon photoreal scenery) I think the honeymoon is over!

FSX was never going to star on my single core system but by pootling about (with a UK road atlas) from airfield to airfield in various slow forms of transport, I was quite pleased :$ .

However, this morning, I was taking off from Southampton in the default 208B (with Auringy re-paint) when I hit the dreaded 'blurries', even the top bar menu went into a grey mush! I guess I pushed my video/processor over the limit. It now goes blurry within a few seconds of re-loading (but in years passed a re-boot used to cure this snag on a previous PC), so I popped back to FS9......it was like coming home again ;-) , smooth, detailed and with a hangar full of gems!

FSX may stay on my system, but it will not be used very much! Shame the new UK2000 will not work on FS9 though!

Thanks Dave, I have the sea on 1plus, or whatever, but have been flying in land more! Still, I do not like the sea effects much anyway!

Okey doh mate.. as you said you'd taken off from Southampton, I had a 50/50 on guessing which runway you took :lol: Having the sea higher than low+ used to completely cock up my FSX when I was in DG's Rapide prior to the service packs being released and sounds similar to what you're seeing now. Changing the sea back to lower than a snakes belly in a wheel rut wouldn't work immediately either.. muchos hanging around required :roll:
