Thanks Ben, I may have to DL SP1 again and get SP2 via an internet cafe, as I remember them being huge! I took back the dreaded 'wrong' acceleration pack and got a refund! I may also need a new HD as if I load the photo scenery I have, I think I am getting close to filling this one up....time for a BIG clearout possibly?

Which photo scenery have you Trev? If its Gen X, if you install it all its about 120GB.... just for the scenery... actually, if its the new version (V2.0) there was an extra DVD in each pack, so probably considerably more. :$

SP1 is included with Acceleration so you don't need to install SP1. You only need to install SP1 if you are using the SP2 download rather than Acceleration.

The cunning little bugger that caused the re-install error message was removed with a MS registry un-installer tool. I have now been able to do a full install and add patches (did SP2 overnight) as I doubt if I will bother with Acceleration Pack stuff at present. The Horizon stuff may have to wait, as I only have about 80 gig of free HD available now!

Sorry to agree with what most of you have been saying, but FSX (SP2) is pretty much OK! If only it was that good out of the box, I am sure MS would have made a lot more sales! Freeware available (I have vowed to stick to FSX native as much as possible) is dire though! Half the stuff for FSX at Avsim is total fantasy stuff! Perhaps that tells us a bit about the new generation of sim users!

For those of you with the Hawk, does it run better than DG's Beau? Although she looks fantastic, my PC runs at about half the FPS of the defaults and stutters like it did before the patches, when I try her :'( :'( :'( :'(

Hi Trev..

DG's Beau really punishes my XP3200 but runs reasonably well on the DuoCore E6600. Surprisingly.. the Hawk runs better.. much better in fact than Rick's little Foxbat thing!! Odd but true :o

Yep, the Hawk runs better than the Beaufighter for me. I'd love to be able to enjoy the Beau, but it just stutters quite a lot when I've got it loaded, so it takes the shine off the model, for me.

Saying that, I can't remember if I tested it after I got my new graphics card. Might be worth another shot.
