Wedding reception table names

Post by VEGAS »

Hi all,

Just wanted to get some ideas on table names for our forthcoming wedding next year.

Basically I have been given the task of naming the tables for the wedding reception, and naturally would love to have an aviation theme to them.

The head table being the main table so therefore would like to have the table named as the Concorde table.

There are around 60 guests at the day event with around 8-10 tables being laid out for the meal etc..

So, any suggestions for the other table names? :dunno: :)

Sounds like a neat idea! If you have the money, you could have a model of the plane for each table as the centerpiece.

Civilian
Viscount
Vanguard
Trident
Comet
Britannia

Military
Victor
Valiant
Vulcan

...and any uninvited guests can be seated at the Dornier, Heinkel. and Messerschmidt tables. But seriously, how about tables named AVRO, de Havilland, Hawker Siddeley, Supermarine, and Vickers. :) I really like BAe146's idea of using aircraft models as centerpieces. You probably wouldn't even have to detail the models. Just build the model and then paint the entire aircraft one color such as silver. That would give them sort of an elegant artistic look.

How about airline callsign names?

Speedbird
Clipper
Cathay
etc, etc, etc

Along the same lines as Brian's suggestion above, you could place uninvited guests at the USAir table. :dancer:  (apologies to any US Airways workers who may be reading this)...

Ah, your're back Eddie :dancer: .....for a time I thought I had been imagining this post!!

Only have the one suggestion for you as others' have already given names so, as it is a tradition to invite the vicar after the service to the reception then you could name the table as:

The Vickers table.

Regards and best wishes for next May.

Nigel.

Loving these ideas guys. I might be forced to keep the names relatively simple however. Mainly so our guests don't get too confused with anything too technical.

Naturally the final decision will be of a classic and British theme. ;-)

Thanks for the contributions so far! :welldone:

Eddie, are you sure you've been given responsibility for naming tables?

You might want to check to make sure you've understood correctly.
