Which version of Comodo has been installed exactly? Not 32 or 64 bit but version 3.0.??.???

It may be a case of the latest download version already has the patch included hence why it refuses to install.

Re the PC running slow, try turning off Proactive Defense in Kaspersky. It's under the protection tab on the left.

Chaps,

I am reading about all this grief and aggro that some of you are having and I am stunned! You do not have to put up with it!

For goodness sake, knock out everything associated with your current security and install a Security Suite - Trend or Steganos. All your troubles will be far away. I have none of these difficulties with Steganos and I am sure tthat this would equally apply to Trend, from what I have read.

Hi Ralph

Too many assumptions.

The are those that DO have to put up with it

Some just can't afford to keep buying software

Get the people that make these things and screw them for every last penny

NO ONE should have to pay for virus protection

Sorry Garry but why not? Thats a bit like saying you shouldn't have to pay for a mechanic if your car breaks down. When your car breaks, you have the option to pick a mechanic, either a main dealer (expensive) or alocal garage (less expensive but will not have all the main dealer tools / testing kit.) And the end of the day its a choice. With a main dealer you may have more come back than a one man band, but as they say the choice is yours. Anti virus software is like changing the oil on your car... you know you have to do it at every service interval and there is a cost for that. Don't do it and you risk damaging your engine, but you may save a few quid. I've always put fully synthetic motor oil (which is a bit more expensive) in my R reg Rover and the engine has been solid. Computers are the same, they need to be maintained and thats a simple fact.

A fair price for a fair product.

I see what you're saying Ben but it's not the same.

Difference being unlike car faults virus are deliberately created :@

This is why no one should have to pay for this...the lowlives that do this should be asset stripped to cover the clean up cost

It's not maintenance but a fight against criminal and immoral acts acts. :-(

Ah right, I see what you mean now Garry, but unfortuately that doesn't / can't happen so we do need anti virus, which is simply a running cost of owning a PC.

I know mate :-(

Which goes back top my first point

Not everyone can afford to keep up and suffer as a consequence.

At least on here when AV is bought good advice is readily given :)

Re the PC running slow, try turning off Proactive Defense in Kaspersky
Many thanks Charlie Bravo, done it and performance has improved. Also re-downloaded the 32bit application for Comodo and that is now running fine.

Many thanks

Regards
Nigel.
