FSX Acceleration.....!!!

Post by Techy111 »

Hmmm i bit the bullet and bought this today and....and.... :-#

Well for once i cannot say a bad word......?

The SP2 is worth the improvement alone and it seems to "buzz" along quite merrily...

Anyone else got it yet?

I think its finally arrived....FSX that is...!!!

I will post some screenshots soon if anyone is interested and to get 3 new A/C for £24.99 is cheaper than most addon payware A/C isn't it?

I am pleasantly surprised..... :worried:

Hi Tony,

i got it yesterday. The re appearance of the glass textures in many of the old FS9 models is great, I didn't notice much of a performance improvement, but then I didn't expect too as I've everything working quite nicely. The prop texture issue is a real pain, but I'm reliably informed its an easy fix.

One of the main things I was looking forward to was the carrier ops. They seem to have done a decent job... (there is a carrier located just west of the golden gate bridge if your looking for one) but I can't get the FRADU Hunter to catch the wires... the F18 catches without problem. Maybe there need to be something added to the aircraft model, but it doesn't read that way in the SDK.

Ben...the performance increase i got was very noticeable......!! 18-27 FPS in built up areas.... Now upto 27-36 in the same built up areas.... :welldone:

Why ? I do not have the foggiest....I landed a Bucc no probs on the carrier (3 wire) ;-)

Before I go and get it all wrong (again!!), does it have to be a clean install?

There seems to be some confusion on this point from the heated opinions being aired on the FSX Forum at all nodes.

Mine isn't a clean install mate, and other than the documented issues with prop textures etc, its been fine. To be honnest though, I'd rather do a clean install, but I'll save that for the next time I have to rebuild.

Got mine yesterday and am quite pleased with it. Been reading the SDK notes and it now seems that we can have supercharged, rather than turbocharged engines. Also, aircraft can carry now a tank of nitrous oxide to give them a bit of extra oomph  . Spookily enough the Westland Welkin did some flights with a wopping great tank of NOX behind the pilot. Took him up to 47500 feet and increased the top speed to over 400 mph. :flying:

Best wishes
