By the way, if anyone fancies learning about the battle of Dien Bien Phu, I thoroughly recommend 'The Last Valley' by Martin Windrow. It made the best sellers list when it came out, and was my best 'read' of last summer. An absorbing piece of military history to immerse yourself in.

Actually Paul you should have posed the simshed gift there - the French air force flew 26Cs in the area during the seige , also C47s and Stinson L5s I beleive

Indeed they did, Leif...never thought of that. I rather think this new Invader is going to be the subject of a lot of repaints, so a French AF D.B.P-era paint will be very welcome. The air operation that supported Dien Bien Phu is quite a tale in itself. While many Airforce and Aeronavale pilots distinguished themselves, it's not generally a very happy story.
