the phone book organizer watch is a handy piece
I had one years ago
this is what I prefer
plastic ((electrician hazard to wear a conductor on ones sef))

the best you can do mayagrafix is suit yourself
I had a Real nice Bolova (300 us in 82') it was the selfwinding type,,,, it wound itself to death , after several trips to the repair shop I threw it in the Bin,
.........but I do like a sharp looking piece

You've brought back some memories there Eddie. All the cool kids had them when I was at school.

One lad could beat them hands down though, he had a watch which could change channels on the telly. We had hours of fun with dozy teachers who made us watch those boring educational videos...

I remember having one like that but it could change the channels on TV's. It was great during class videos.

There was also a 007 watch that played the theme tune. I think that was my favourite! :think:

On the railways timekeeping needs are a bit different. We were all issued with those watches that communicate with a nuclear clock and are supposedly accurate to within half a second over a million years. It allowed you to depart to the second and then monitored the position of all trains that might connect with yours and adjusted itself so that you always arrived at a station just as the connecting train was departing. So it did the job perfectly but as they were a rubbish build they all failed after a couple of months so we never did get to test the million years claim.

My personal watch is a Seiko kinetic which stores energy from the movement of your wrist - very green credentials like a wind up - but not much good for flying long distance unless you look for some decent turbulence occasionally.

I hope this contributes to the debate (but somehow I doubt it....)
