I honestly couldn't say Robin. He and the other chap were working down the road in Goring and wanted accommodation here but we didn't have the right number of rooms for the right amount of nights  They came back later that evening for a meal and a beer and the conversation got onto bikes. Both are (by the sound of things) serious about 4x4's too.. that is doing serious 4x4 off-roading
Aaah, those were the days till i had me kids,i had a FS1E and once i passed my test 5 RD350LC MK1's a GPZ750A1,Bandit600 and finally a monster TL1000R 135BHP V twin, totally wicked bike not the best handling but brutal with it,got 170mph outta that.I hope to get a GSXR1100 in the not too distant future (dont tell the wife!!)
ill dig ot some pics!!
BTW i had my mates GSXR1300 Hayabusa for a week managed 200mph on the clock in France (mind blowing) the pull in 3rd gear was sommin else.
Lovely bikes Vincents. Very over engineered and therefore too expensive to be a viable proposition in the 50s and 60s. Also the reason though that there are proportionately still quite a few about.
