Solved It (And it was the weirdest thing..)

Hi all,

Even though the suggestions on this forum seemed to have worked (from now on its the default plane all the way!), I had this problem again and again.

I noticed that it seemed to happen each time I entered one airspace for another or whenever atc gave me a squawk code. Id already tried to change frequencies but that didn't solve it until I looked at the transponder,

and lo and behold it hadn't changed, so I banged in the number atc gave me and the thing bursts into life.

Not sure why this happens (Fs normally automatically does this) but this seems to have solved things at this end.

Thanks for the advice!

It's the way CaptainSim programmed their aircraft. It's also why I don't fly the CS727 anymore. They used non-standard gauge programming and won't fix any of the problems with the aircraft 2 years on since they promised the fix.

Yeah, I looked over on their site and there customer support needs a lot of work!

In the forum, almost every post has a sharp defense to it, such as "well what do you expect me to do about it!"

At least over here the developers are more than willing to help usually!

Hi James

I bought the 727 in the sale too, flew it around a bit and than basically stopped using it. It's one of those that could have been an absolute FS classic had the developers listened a bit more to the buying public. I like the crew checklists, but they have errors. I like the TCE load system, but it doesn't always work properly for me. I don't like the transponder set up, I don't go much for the flight dynamics on approach, and VOR tracking is completey useless, which in an aircraft that relies on VOR navigation is pretty poor.

I bought it because it was cheap, so I don't worry to much about not using it, but it is a great example of how freeware is often better than payware. The 1-11 and the recent F28 are both much better than the CS 727, IMHO.

Just note that the CS 727 is five years old product. They are re-creating it now http://www.captainsim.com/products/x727/

I have to say it may be five years old, but now that I've solved the problem I have had with it, its fantastic and does not show its age that much, and the soundset!!
