Yet more payware issues
Hello Chaps,
The following is perhaps why I should fly the excellent 1-11 over payware a/c
I recently got the captain sim 727, in some respects to compliment the 747-200 which kills my system!
I have however discovered a really strange fault,
I can be flying along fine, tuned into a radio frequency, for example tonight I was on paris center, and I can go back to my atc box and nothings there, just that I am tuned into that station.
No matter what I do I cannot use the atc again in that flight, and this is getting annoying cause I therefore cannot land properly. I'm running it in FS9.
Has anyone else experienced this, or know of a solution,
Thanks once again,
James.

Funnily enough James - I had that a few weeks back and it even saved the problem when I saved the situation. I still had the problem having reloaded the situation and changed aircraft a few days later. My solution was to delete the reference to my saved situation that loads as default by removing the name from the fs9.cfg - that way it loads the default 172 in the default situation. That fixed it.
I did fly the 727 a few weeks ago too - but I can't honestly remember if the two events are linked or not.
Cheers
Rich

That is a good point Rich and one that is always worth noting.. the default flight. I never load flightsim with anything other than the default Cessna. I could (if I had them installed) use any default aircraft but the Cessna does the job. This is not to say that I load a 'default situation'.. I don't.. just the default Cessna at whatever location I wish to be at.
Give it a try James and see what pop's out. For what it's worth, I bought the DF/F1 727 and that slows my system to a saunter

Hi James
It's girlie.. it's time consuming.. it hardly seems worth the effort but by loading a default aircraft first, you can avoid many problems (though I admit, not all). It's a link in the chain that you can.. with some confidence.. disgard if you've done everything you can to ensure the sim is loaded correctly. You KNOW that the developer will ask this as a matter of course should a prob arise so best to be in a position of strength rather than on the back foot
I hate doing it.. I really do but I do it religiously every time I load up for the first flight of a session

I have run into problems by not loading default first.
This is mainly with the later more sophisticated models
It is almost as if they are trying to modify the default settings without the correct starting values being present.
A recipe for a screw up
Like Dave says it is the answer to many problems but not all
For the time it takes it's worth giving it a shot
And concur with Dave..anyone approached with a problem like this is likely to ask if you have started with a default. Makes sense to eliminate that before getting too deep into a fix.
