I did have TR for the Argosy at one point but did a couple of test flights and it just didn't feel as it had done when we were beta testing. The trim was far too savage (I don't remember this being an issue before) to fly manually so I gave up and asked John to remove the TR. I may go for it again at some point (and in all honesty, one more will make not one jot of difference!) and tks again for the HU on the light problem

Well done on the 600th flight. just shows how popular CBFS has become. i bet if flynet ever came off line you would go through cold turkey

Intersting to see that you don't like the argosy, same could be said for me with the vc10. one man's pleasure is anothers poison. may i ask what was the problem with the lights on this aircraft within flynet. only asking as i had clocked quiet a few hours on flynet without problems. also what does the mod do?

Heh I should do a bit of VA flying, but Im afraid of bending an aircraft or getting fined by speeding on the taxiway ect

No.. a good point Dan. We've had a lack of animosity here (I'm sure we all remember one particular incident regarding where a DC3 post was!!) and peace has ensued since

CP.. I didn't realise there was a potential prob with the Argosy lamps until DM mentioned it. I flew the aircraft (by and large) by hand when it was being beta tested and loved it. I've no idea what's happened since (to either the model or my pc) but it just doesn't feel right now. Shame because I love it's uglyness

DM is the man to comment on any detail there

I probably shouldn't have mentioned the Argosy thing, so please forget it.
Knowing DaveB & his 100% ratings, it just made me wonder if the lights had anything to do with him not flying it.

I doubt there is anything wrong with the model, but I had trouble with it a couple of times where I thought the landing lights were right, only for FlyNet to disagree.
I simplified the XML on mine so that it just did a straight on/off of landing lights instead of the more complex code that was in there.

If others are using it no problem, it was probably me using it wrong.
I did RTFM once but don't fly it often enough to remember.

No.. lights were not a problem, only with FlyNET (seeming) to work AGL as opposed to ASL though I wouldn't care to try it out as it seems to pick and choose one at will. I fitted a small radalt to all my aircraft after getting caught at Jersey in the Vanguard (I was at 1013.. the norm for me) specifically to make sure I don't get caught again and I recently exited LHR in a TRI3 using real wx (and my altimeters set accordingly) only to have the 'BONG' go off at around 1500ft AGL(radalt).. Landing Lights. In a word.. BO!!OCKs to it.
I also had a scare a month or so ago exiting Saltzburg (I think) on my way down to Cyprus in a Viking. I was at 8000ft and FSNav reported the highest ground at 6300 if I remember right.. wrong! :shock: On this occassion, I still had my landing lights on (just in case I got too close to peaks which I did) so I didn't get knicked.. remembering what you'd said some weeks prior about dropping below a low cloudbase to find a ferking mountain there!! :roll:

Anyway.. enough waffle. I now have to load 6.5b and see if I can get out of Cairo without running out of gas!! :curse:
