HMS Eagle Airwing 1971

Post by JensOle »

Hi,

I have taken the liberty to paint the superb new Ark Royal model as HMS Eagle R05. Both ships started life as twins, but the configuration differed considerable throughout their service life so the model is not 100%, but it will do to show off some 1960’s British carrier aircraft.

A rather large collection of screenshots showing off Sea Vixen, Buccaneer, Wessex and Gannet: http://www.flightsim.no/forum/showflat. ... e=0#542891

Jens-Ole,

What an outstanding collection of screenies! Well done indeed.

Were the Sea Vixens in close formation Photoshopped or were you formating on an AI Vixen to take the shots? And where does the buddy tanker Bucc come from please?
Regards
Kit

Kit,

That Bucc looks like the old DSB design (now IRIS) "UK Fighters pack" one.

Available for free distribution, as deemed by IRIS, however not allowed to be uploaded, torented, P2P'ed etc etc.... the official license is "direct transfer only" I think, such as MSN messenger/skype file transfer.

Thank you for the kind words about the screenshots! I'm glad you liked them. None of the shots are edited, they are either multi player or ai traffic (fs recorder). All aircraft used for the mp shots also have an individual researched id code/decals for that particular squadron so that they do not look the same.

Seaking; I have made/reworked the textures on the Sea Vixen, Buccaneer and some minor rework on the Gannet and Wessex to fit the Eagle air wing (with the "E" code for Eagle). If there are interest in the Vixen and Buccaneer paints, it should be no big problem to release them.

And as previous mentioned; the Buccaneer is an old DSB model for RAF virtual. It lacks a dedicated VC, but the 3d model is not that bad, and it is very frame rate friendly
