Don't ask me why but I knew what the subject material would be before I looked at it  For 'Not a classic yet'.. read 'Not in frontline service yet'!!

Lovely crisp shots DC and a very pretty subject

thanks DB

BTW, we have had 4 phoons from 29 sqn up here at leuchars over last 2 weeks. My gaffer mangage to get a back seat in one, which nearly crashed!!! lucky for him , it landed safe, after loosing ALL generators. had to come home on the emergency gen, which powers the controls only, no MFD's etc

anyway, one of the crews was a QFI on 56 sqn last year, so got chatting to him, and he does not like them. The honest opinion of the crew, is the Tornado F3 is still a FAR better fighting platform, than the phoon. admitidly, in 2 years or so, if all goes well, it should be better, but at present, it still has far to many problems, and can;t compete

Not a classic yet

I know that the following aircraft is not a British design but I am a fan of that great American success, 4000+ built or building, the F16 'Fighting Falcon.'

I wish the RAF had bought or leased them. The really look as though they can fulfill the multi-role task and have proved that they can do the job.

The over-riding priority is that we should retain our ability to design and develop our own aircraft within the UK and on that basis one has to accept the argument for developing the Typhoon.
