fsx compatible?

Post by Fortiesman »

hello-
I love flying the Trident and the 1-11-
HAS anyone tried to see if they work in FSX?
The expected VFR scenery for UK in FSX looks very good and it would be nice to fly these planes in that eventually.
TIA

Take your point  and unless I get a dire warning here, then I probably will. But i have only just 'found' these planes so I thought perhaps someone who knew for definite might reply. especially as they use an installer as opposed to distributing aircraft folders, and/or panel and gauge folders etc.

Hi Fortiesman

You can't use the installer

Direct the installer to a temp folder and then put the various parts in there

I would think you have to have all the VC bits in each paint folder.

There will be issues as they are not FS.X

There are various comments that have been made here so you need to do some searching.

I am using the 1-111-400 and -510 in FSX, along with the Trident 3
and HS.748.

As Gary pointed out, you will need to copy all the "common" textures
into EACH of the texture folders.

Here's a "dir" listing for the 1-11 510ED texture.BEA Red Tail:

10/25/2006 06:43 PM 7,840 thumbnail.jpg

The files "thumbnail.jpg" and "texture.cfg" are not, of course, part
of the FS9 install but created for FSX. Texture.cfg is not really needed
but I placed that file in all my addons since FSX looks for it even if
if isn't used.

There will be some minor gauge issues and possibly some startup
problems from "cold & dark" but beyond that, these planes work
well in FSX.

There are I believe problems with effects being at right angles to the model.

The smoke and trails appearing to the side and one above the other.

The positions need to be changed on the config but I don't know what the new figures are as I haven't looked.
