Sometimes ASv6 serves up some gorgeous realtime weather -

Climbing out from Niagara Falls enroute to Harrisburg flying Logair for
VHA - climbed out through snow showers and -25 to find this

Enjoy -- and Rick - thank you

ActiveSky version 6.5 mate

Payware but well worth it - nice realtime weather delivery excellent depiction regular and good support what else could one ask?

Oh yes if your a virtual glider pilot it makes great thermals too

And thank you but I had the weather as I said and an incredible subject to work with - Ricks Wheelbarrow is the finest kind :)

Visited their site and the screenshots are astounding. AND its compatible with both FS9 and FSX! It would appear you've just pointed me to my next FS payware!

I agree, the Argosy is a terrific model. Time I took her out for a trip again. Must take Rick's Varsity up again too...another favourite plane of mine.

I recommend that all who like to fly with an active weather system buy ActiveSkyv6.5. It is worth every penny and I have excellent backup provided by the ASv6 forum on Avsim.

One can use actual weather and updates come every 6mins. via the internet or you can use saved weather (archived) for flights. I download the weather on the 16th day of each month from 05:00Zulu until 23:00Zulu. When flying for our VA I use that archived weather varying the weather for the return by using either a different time period matched to the VA flight times or by selecting archived weather from a previous month. This tecnique allows me to fly with weather archived for the 16th September 2006 to weather on the 16th January 2007. So I have lots of variations in weather available for out and back and it is pleasant to see the sun in winter time by judicious choice of an archived file.
