What's yellow and hires cars?

Post by Philip Foglar »

Hi guys,

I am talking about the Ryanair Hertz logo jet of course!

Had my eye on this one for a while and decided to she what I could do. Not a 100% happy with certain things, but getting there. I have also painted the engine textures with a "patched-up" look due to having different colour engine covers on. The wings and horizontal stabiliser had to be painted too, still have to tweak it a bit here and there. It took a lot of adjusting to get the logo to fit where it is supposed to and line up as closely as possible with the doors, hatches and so on.

This will get released along with some of my still unreleased updated textures and a few other new ones...

Comments and suggestions most welcome!!

All the best,

Philip.

Well up to your usual standards, Philip. I like this one very much. Is this the Kittyhawk model or the Tinmouse? I know I should be able to tell by now, but .......

Hi Ian,

Thanks. Yep, Kittyhawk model. Glad you like. I am also busy painting the SAA 707s on the HJG models - previews soon!

All the best,

Philip.

I've boarded passengers onto that aircraft many times and it was never that clean

It seemed to have many different shades of yellow on the fuselage, all of which were pretty dull and lacked any shine.

For example:

A bird in the hand will probably sh!t on your wrist.

Hi Charlie,

Won't be able to do much about the dynamic-shine which is model specific, but the alpha channel for reflective map is set to a very low level (240, 240, 240 or even lighter). As far as the dirt, I am going to have to add more dirt, from all the photos that I have seen she seems to always be quite filthy, shame! The patches of different shades of yellow has been applied, but maybe not enough to be apparent. On many photos the engines have different covers with one part being blue and another being white, and then I have seen photos where the nose cone is white too. I may end up releasing this with two sets of textures for this scenario. Thanks for your comments.

All the best,

Philip.
