Anyone need any photos from RAF Museum Hendon?

Post by JimCooper »

I'm off to Hendon tomorrow (23rd Feb) to get some shots of the 'Royal' Wessex. Whilst I'm there I'm happy to get photos of any other aircraft if people need them. Requests on this forum or PM me by 0830 tomorrow

regards

Jim

I was there on saturday, theres not much chance of getting any in the BoB hall- they've switched all the lights off! :dunno: It was the first time i've ever got any reasonable photos in the bomber hall though.

I've been in milestones before but I was very impressed by the Graham-White Factory which was closed last time I went.

James..

The 'light' thing is common and done all the time mate. Considering the museums status, this is lamentable

It seems like its becoming more common too- a few weeks ago I went to the science museum which was exactly the same (well the aviation bit anyway!).

I have heard that its to protect the airframes from UV but if thats the case why is the Graham-White factory so well lit since that has the oldest and most fragile aircraft in there.

On my trip to London back in November I ran across this "low light"
issue at both the Science Museum and at Hendon. I was rather
disappointed at the photo's I took with my digital camera.
Had I lugged a tripod the 7,000+ miles with me I might have gotten
a few more that were not blurred. As it was, I used my video capture
mode which does better in low light conditions.

I did get some fine photo's out at Bletchley :)
