Worst paint jobs

Post by VEGAS »

Hi all,

well in contrast to the other thread what in your opinion would you consider the ugliest or least pretty airline livery?

This is probably mine, I almost feel sorry for the Aircraft!

Hi Eddie

This sticks in my mind

But top of my dislikes are BAF hoops

Air UK blue plane especially original

BA Landor and last BM livery

Yes that is rather nasty, poor viscount!

Funny you mentioning the all blue Air UK livery. I really love that!

Oh well if we were all the same an all that.

Hi Eddie

There was a Britannia in that livery as well.

As to the Air UK.I didn't mind the second white tail livery so much but I hated the nearly all blue. firts version...The white tail made a big difference.

Only three Heralds had the early blue and each was different

Some had more blue than others...blue engines

There were three that I know of, G-APWF........never modified, G-BAZJ and G-BEBB

Never saw the Friendships but G-BAUR was painted at least as was One-Eleven G-CBIA.

The CAA asked them to change it due to them being camouflaged against the sky

Isn't it traditional for aircraft operating in or from Siberia to be garish colours or at least not white. So they can be found if they crash into the snow.

I can think of nicer colours than snot green though...

BAF Hoops were bad, BA Landor was pure class, but after all those nice regional variations, the original BA boring red tail takes the biscuit :sicky: , although ironically it would be quite welcome these days. frankly anything beats the predominant white of todays schemes.
