Problems at EGPH

Post by soggy »

I am having problems flying Viscount G-AOHR out of Edinburgh,For some reason i keep getting the "flightsim has encountered a problem and needs to close screen" it is saying it is something to do with fe.dll.I have not encountered this problem anywhere else whilst flying the viscount.

I am using the default airport, and the problem seems to be the aircraft as i flew a comet out of there last week.

I will leave the aircraft up there for the time being, and fly from elsewhere until i can fathom it out.

Hiya Pete..

Is fe.dll something to do with Flight Environment (as in the payware program)??

Can't say I've taken a Viscount to EGPH but like you, I've ventured there in a Comet and also our Skyvan. I'm certain that Fraser will have trod that path many times before in a Viscount and I can't recall him mentioning any problem. I used to have Scotflight installed and hit problems in Dyce which cleared when I uninstalled it (which is odd as plenty of folk have it and have never had a problem)

Wish I could be of help mate but I'm not au fait with that particular dll error :dunno:

Hi Dave,

I havent got any 3rd party scenery installed apart from the freeware uk terrain mesh.I really can't understand why this problem has occurred as i have flown out of there in the past just not in the viscount.

Hopfully someone will have the answer, until then she will have to sit up there and brave the scottish winter  .

Unfortunatly its cost me over 500 quid in cancelled flight fees plus the cost of a ticket back down to heathrow.

Hi Peter,

A quick google for fe.dll shows quite a few hits. Its an MS file for FS9 flight environment and is needed. Maybe it's got corrupted somehow. Perhaps a dig on your CD's for the original and replace it? Do a search and see if any of the hits are for people with similar probs that you have. Quickly scanning a couple of them seems to point to scenery conflicts somehow.

Rgds

Just noticed this, I have (touch wood) never had a problem at Edinburgh with the Viscount. I use the default airfield, reAFCADed to be like the old Turnhouse without the new runway and taxiways, and the runway realigned as 31/13 which works fine for me.

If you want me to pick up AOHR just shout, otherwise she can stay laid up until you're sorted.

cheers
