X52 Queries

Thought I'd ask here before entering the hell of Ubi forums:

Those three buttons along the bottom of the throttle's MFD; what do they actually do ? :think:

And can I load/change/clear a profile while I'm in a game ? I keep reading about the clutch function, so is that what its for ? How do I activate/operate this ? :k:

I've had the X52 for a while, but these issues have only now arisen because with the new IL2: 1946 I can't get my TrackIR to work when a X52 profile is enabled ( it works when the X52 is in generic profile-less joystick mode ). :curse:

Any help will be much appreciated, as ever. Happy New Year to all.

Can't answer your questions as I've just started using the x52 too, except to say you can apply a profile from the icon in the Notification area of the toolbar bottom right. Right click on the joystick icon and select the profile you want. Also the joystick has a rotary mode switch top right side, which selects between three profles.

I find that the joystick sticks slightly when small adjustments to movement are made "Sticktion" if you like, very annoying.

too much centering force too.

I'm not sure if I like it yet.

Yep, I'm fine applying a profile, just wondering about these MFD buttons. The only thing I've made them do so far is operate a stopwatch function.

Any idea what the 'clutch' thing is ?

The clutch can be used to change profiles on the fly. Hold the clutch and you can use the main hat on the stick to cycle though profiles. Up and down to view, and right to select.

The MFD buttons are for a stopwatch (as you've found) and can also be used to select either GMT, or one of two other time zones.

One annoying fact is that is always defaults to GMT, even when your PC is set to BST (GMT+1).

Oh good, some more X52 newbies. The supplied FS2004 profile is hardly breathtaking.

If anyone has a profile they would like to share, if only so I could see what is possible, please indicate.

Dave, I knew nothing about this. Which button acts as the clutch ?

It's the "i" button, in the middle of the rotary dial near the mouse controls on the throttle. When you press it, it flashes along with the LED in the middle of the hat switch on the stick.

Dave, if I may pick your brains a little further: after having TrackIR running alongside an X52 profile, and switching them both off, I went to select a profile again and instead of the profile names appearing in the MFD as I scrolled up and down with the hat switch, I got these:

Any idea what they mean and why I couldn't find my profiles ?
