Hi Cathy and rest of the gang,
well, so far, Georg (aka yours truly) has two major issues with FSX. For one, as I see it there is absolutely no way to run this monster on a humble Athlon XP 2400 and a 128MB Radeon 9800. Let alone a 17" CRT. Second, there is this no-go area of product activation. Especially as my *ahemm* operating system is not exactly *cough*. See? Updating DirectX alone was a major problem due to that fact. Hence there won't be no FSX in my house any time soon, mates.
So, to answer your question: as per now, no updates planned. In addition, updates to the flight dynamics aren't my or Hans' area, but Jens Kristensen's (honestly, does anyone ever RTFM?). At any rate, I'm under the impression FS2004 planes work tolerably well in FSX - should my information be wrong on that head, let me know and D-GHHH as a team will figure something out. As for the visuals, D-check has been postponed to FS12 due to no time at all and a list of other projects which is reaching Great Wall dimensions.
Regards,
Georg

Thanks
2 issues with FSX, 1) flying is mainly from the VC, 2, al lto of the guages for this plane don't work due to the fact they are designed for FS 98 or earlier, or using those protocols, so FSX wont support them, at the moment I am flying bot planes using Jens new FSX Argo flight deck in 2d, do you happen to know if Arik at FS Designs will be upgraing his Electa 10's I can get the VC to display but no gaugess

Sorry Cathy,
no good news from FS-Berlin and concerning an upgrade of the Electra. The homepage is not updated since November 2004 because Arik changed his interests. You can read about that elsewhere here in the forum some time ago.
Ciao

So that's where the wind is blowing from... I see. Decoding Cathy's error description I'm guessing FSX refuses to display non-XML gauges, in which case everything but some engine gauges will go missing with both Ambassador and Ensign. OK, that is going to be one hell of a lot of work. For the moment, then, kindly stick with third party panels. There MAY (capital em capital ey capital why) be a fix for the Ambassador ere the year is out, but nothing promised.
About the VC thing - if someone were to get aboard the Duxford example and that one's cockpit were in a fairly decent state of repair, one could start to think about it, but... Ensign: well, those were scrapped. BA may have decent pictures in their basement, but then we all know BA's attitude to history. :curse:
As for Arik's Electra - please ask him. I believe he monitors this forum, if he's still active at all. Judging by the website, he isn't. As Hans said while I was typing.

Georg,
As I understand it, the Ambassador at Duxford is in a lamentable state.. much worse than it was when it arrived there  It had the wings removed and the fuse sits (out of reach) up against a wall in a dark corner of one of the hangars.
Considering it went there for preservation.. something has definately gone wrong

Blimey Dave
The last I heard of LZO was the the rebuild was going well and pics were shown in a fresh almost complete Dan Air livery
So a change of heart somewhere along the line....and something they have kept VERY quiet about

Well, search as I might.. I've never actually seen ALZO in any of the hangars there (and I HAVE looked) but the situation as described was how Rick last saw it. The only aircraft I can think of that has been freshly painted and restored is the York they have and I have to say, it does look very good in Dan Dare
I could well be wrong mate.. and not for the first time either

Dave the last I heard was a couple of years ago at least
I have been wondering why it has not been finished although they did say it was a long term project.
It is possible it may have been dismantled to make way for something else with the intention of being put back
