X-Planes and Prototypes

Post by RAF_Quantum »

Hi

Whilst out and about yesterday, I popped into our local Matalan store. I stumbled on this in the book section. It was only £4.75 and is a little gem of a book. Some really interesting stuff that I had never even heard of - A turbo-prop Meatbox !

That Meteor was experimental and had a reduction gearbox added to the front of it's Derwents and five bladed props fitted

I posted this pic around Christmas

The modified Derwents were renamed "Trent", a little different from the RR Trents of today!

This has been modelled by that nice Brazilian man, J R Lucariny. You can pick it up here http://www.simviation.com/fs2004vintage34.htm
