More Vistaliners L1011 paints released

Post by NorthStarDC4M »

Ok, for all you people that don't want to fly a very good looking Eastern L1011...

Can't imagine why...

17 new L1011 paints are now available, including 3 variations on BA, BAirtours, Caledonian, Court and Aer Lingus/Caledonian: http://www.eastern-va.com/vistaliners/downloads.htm

Notice: these are still under the beta terms, no uploads are permitted anywhere else.

Thanks for that, Peter. The 1011 is the only a/c type that I have worked on that isn't represented in my FS stable and I've been keeping a weather eye on the Vistaliners model. I had to move to the Tristar fleet in 1988 to get promotion, so I flew on them in BA Landor and occasionally in Caledonian livery (if BA were short of aircraft). So they'll fit in very nicely.

Can you recommend a decent panel?

Hi Guys

is it just me that found all the textures including 2 Court Line liveries never used on any tristar :dunno:

Only the Pink (Halcyon Haze) & orange (Halcyon Sun) ever made it onto the Tristar that i ever saw.
Not Beige on any court line and never Green on a tristar.

I am either colour blind or they are ficticious  :dunno:

Also not one of the liveries i downloaded has anything for the aircraft.cfg entry.

Great job but a bit more incomplete than needed.

Regards
Rick

Hi Rick

Yep you're right there were only ever two Court TriStars

G-BAAA Yellow/Orange and G-BAAB Pink

Anything else is pure fiction.

One reason why I hate fiction is that it blurrs the reality of history :huf:

Nice TriStar though

Hi Garry

Just thought i was having a "Rick" moment then.

I was very surpized when i researched DM's 1-11 years ago that there where as many court Line colours as i only remember the Pink & the Orange ones of those as that is all i saw in real life.

but at the time i managed to find Ex Court Line Engineering members that supplied me with the info on what colours on which and Halcyon *** etc etc which i think i got right on my originals back in i think 2001.

Glad it wasn't my Imagination

Regards
Rick

Hi Rick

There was four

Orange/Yellow......Pink.....Mauve/lilac.....Turquoise/green(Forrest Green).

In some pics there appear to have been a blue but that was the Green/Turquoise in bad light/poor reproduction and the colour tended to lighten. Also there was no beige....that is the yellow ones coming out badly on pics.

Just had G-BEAM out for a run. What a lovely Tristar!

I know its still beta, but the only visual funny I could see were the reversers. I know they slide back on the RB211, but it doesn't look right to me. Have I missed something?

Hi Ben,

RB211-22B would have a cold stream reverser. The cowl should slide back and then deflection plates from the inner cowling would rise up inside to defelct the cold stream out through the gap. I dont have this model so I dont know what its doing, but thats what should happen I think.

Thats what I thought Toby. The model sort of slides back, but its more like the mid section colapses into the rear rather than that whole half of the cowl sliding back. Its difficult to explain.

We'll have to wait for Jim Martin (who was around here some time ago) to paint them once it is allowed (I recall no repaints while in beta - is that still the case?).

Jim painted the Mike Stone Tristar in the correct colours.
