DH104 in FSX Demo
G'day,
Installed Rick's HS748 and looks and handles fine. Then attempted to install Derek's DH104 but no luck, "she is sitting on her tail".
Is there a simple fix for this or is it a compatibility problem with FSX?
Cheers,
Delf

Guess it's bit too early to say one or the other, I bet all the developers are quite "on to" any problems with compatibility. But also awaits the SDK before fondling to much with the models...I guess we all just have to try out for our selves, and see when the final product releases, what needs to be updated and what not.

Hi Delf
I loaded the Dove and it's OK on my system

***EDIT*** See below
Note the fence behind with the sea and sky in front of the close trees and yellow canopy :huf:

Something strange
If I load the Dove after a default aircraft..the Trike or the FS9 Dak the Dove is sitting on it's tail.
If I load it after the 1-11 as I did before it's OK
When I loaded the 1-11 it was visibly tail heavy but bounced onto it's nose-wheel.
I haven't tried any other combinations as it takes too long to load up each one...................but there is something funny going on here.

I think this is probably as good as place to post my big complaint about fs as anywhere. the thing that really gets me is that while MS has done a lot since fs2 to make the planes look better, with very few exeptions, the FM has not changed much since then, they need to work on revamping the FDE to make them FLY more realistic and make it easyer to change things, I think the main thing they can do is take a bow from how the panel and MDL configuration files reference other files for gauges and BMP's.
instead of haveing essenturally different air files for the diferent types of aircraft, it should mainly focus on the aerodynamics of the plane, mainly the airframe, it should reference other files for the powerplant and prop (if there is one) that way instead of esentally haveing to have a simple model for the engine in each air file, they can work on makeing the powerplant and properler models more complex, you could have specific models for say a RR dart engine, or a conway Jet engine, and have multiple planes using it, this would also be a boon for you all, people could make engine models and post them like they do panels and textrues now, and changing the power plant of a plane would just be changeing the engine model it references, and maybe some other things since the weight of the engine would change....
okay enough ranting, do you all think that this would be a good idea...?

If they did....they wouldn't get it right.
I'm not sure the current game engine would allow it
Their default planes although improved lag behind the addons.
They seem to know little about aviation and how aircraft really work.
They would do better getting the base scenery to look right and the addon boys will do the rest.

DH104 in FSX
G'day Garry,
You were spot on, now have the Dove up and running in FSX. Selected a default aircraft then the Dove.
Been searching for the Modules folder? Where do you install FSUIPC and FSNav?
Cheers,
Delf

Sounds good then :sad:DaveG wrote:The current version of FSUIPC will almost certainly not work with FSX, as FSX works completely differently internally.
What about all those panels & aircraft that require FSUIPC?
Thats not a question to you Dave. More an open thought as I throw my arms in the air & utter rudewords.
