A friend of mine hit one while flying low over the sea from Valley. He was flying a Vampire 5 fitted with drop tanks. The seagull hit right on the front of a drop tank and rolled the Vamp almost inverted...Anyway, he got it back to Valley and I had a close look at the impact. The nose of the drop tank was punched right back to an internal bulkhead...The bulkhead had circular holes in it (for lightness or to baffle fuel movement?)...The skin was punched so hard against this bulkhead that it made little hemispherical concave domes in each of these holes.
That looks a very nice place to spend the weekend away from it all. The birdsong, the llight breeze, the view of the lake and the smell of avgas wafting over...
All it needs now is a few campfires and tents
That Twin Otter looks very nice on those floats!

Yes, it will get all of those things Jonesey but at the moment I'm just putting in things from the Tongass Libraries and making the AI work...I've had to increase the number of seaplane moorings at PAMF and at the moment the Beaver and the Otter just pop over from PAMF to Mountain Lake and back about half an hour apart...It is working well.
Funny that weather today...when I took that shot it was reporting three quarters of a mile vis...I left it running and by the time I had processed and posted the shot the vis had gone up to 50 miles with fair weather Cu
