B of B flypast for the Beckhams

Post by Nigel H-J »

I see from reading Teletext that the Beckhams had a flypast from the Battle of Britain Flight to kick off their pre world cup party held at their house at taxpayers expense, (though they did say it ws only a small diversion from Duxford).

Don't know about you but I think it's very sad to use such historic aircraft to salute the England Team.

Surely the Beckhams, with their money - could have paid for a private display by the Red Arrows instead!!

By the way, I am not a Beckham or footy fan.
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

Maybe they should have had their "do" at "Jumpin' Jacks" nightclub in Southampton then. Not a great place, made worse the other year when waste pipes from the other venues in the complex on the ceiling failed and doused the clubbers on the dancefloor

The likes of Jason Donovan and Whigfield have played there... you truely know you showbiz career has hit rock bottom when you're playing to the students of Southampton

In all honesty, i gan understand a flypast for the world cup (i know, lets send them over to germany.....) because like the BBMF, England's Football team is part, if not a proud part, of our heratage

However, for a private party. no.
