25 Percent Off Sale

Post by Aharon »

Shalom and greetings all my pals,

In case any of you are not aware, UK2000 is having 25 percent off sale on all airport sceneries of all flight sim platforms!!

I am going to buy Bournemouth airport so that I can use BAC 1-11s and Tridents out of the factory in that airport. Before I buy it, can anyone expert in Bournemouth airport which building where BAC 1-11s and Tridents were built, please?

Thanks,

Aharon

Hi Aharon,

Not sure about the specific building for the 1-11, but Tridents were not made by BAC, so weren't built at Bournemouth (Hurn). Tridents were built by DeHavilland (latter Hawker Siddeley) at the factory in Hatfield. the Tridents name (HS121) was originally DH121, DH standing for DeHavilland and design number 121. When the deHavilland business was amalgimated into Hawker Siddeley, The design book stayed, but the letter prefix changed to HS for Hawker Siddeley. Much later on, when the BAe 146 was developed, the name 146 came from, you guessed it, the old DeHavilland, now Hawker Siddeley, now BAe Hatfield design book, and this was design 146.

Wondering if there is FSX scenery for Hatfield the birthplace airport of all Tridents.

Google Earth Hurn,

Go to start of runway 08

To the left of the runway on the industrial site

The 3 long hangars close together

They also used hangars (since demolished) where Flight Refueling/Cobham now live.

They were parked on the concrete pan in front of Cobham's hangers. if you look at the image i referred to earlier it is where the 4 blue Dassault Falcons are parked.
