It's interesting how widely he figures in countries traditions. Happy day, George.

Born in Turkey, and famous for saving a French lady, killed by the Romans, loved by the English.
It's an international saga indeed

Apologies, Ben.I've only just noticed that you posted a 'Happy St George's Day' some hours before I did. I need to pay more attention.
Well, I hope everyone who celebrated the day enjoyed it.

You're dragon that up now, are you, Den?
I've actually been confused about the origins of dragon tales; the nearest thing seems to be the Komodo Dragon, some of which have red and yellow tongues, which no doubt led to the fire breathing stories. But how did the Welsh Dragon start, and why was there one in France, for George to slay?
Yes, there's always a girl involved, isn't there?

That'll teach her for taking a European holiday, she was to be sacrificed to the dragon until George rocked up.
