Let me show you inside....

Had one of these pack up, and being me, I looked inside to see what they're made of.
Surprised about how much aluminium is used; OK, it's thin, but there's a whole cone of it leading to the platform.
Here's the top of the platform, can you tell what it is?

Is it some sort of bulb Mike? those look like LED’s and that silver thing looks like a fairly large (comparatively) capacitor.

It's a domestic 240V 8W LED light globe.
I tried to smash the glass off it, but the globe is "bomb-proof" plastic, so I sawed through it

It looks like the LED equivalent of the spotlight bulbs you would see in an outside motion detector unit. I have a pair of LED bulbs in one of my units and a pair of older halogen bulbs in the other one.

Interesting. I was clueless until I Googled 'A60CE-2835'.
