Face Book!!

Post by Nigel H-J »

Purchasing the Oculus Quest 2 tomorrow and though I would make a start tonight by creating an account with Face Book. Started on my mobile phone as need the Oculus app, actually managed to open an account but my goodness, I very nearly thought to hell with this and not bother at all.

The amount of messing about for me to create an account was a pain in the backside to say the least. Either that or it is because I am nearly approaching 70 years old and could well do without faffing about then having to make my profile private etc etc!! :wall: :hide:

All I want to do is plug and play, so why on earth does Mark Zuckerberg demands that all who buy Quest 2 have to sign on or not use it!!

Rant over, now for a couple of headache/migrain pills and an early night and by tomorrow I should be back to normal.

Regards
Nigel.

Because Nigel, every piece of biometric data, audio, movement, eye responces will be fed into the Facebook machine to make you buy more shit you don’t want or don’t need from companies you don’t know and don’t like.

The trick with a Facebook profile is to lie. Do not use one iota of genuine information on it.

:-O

Babs often says that I should not be let loose alone!!

So, by what you have written, I should delete my account and respawn with an alien name and an e-mail address at mars.com!! :poke:

I got into FS2020 VR just after Christmas with a Rift S. I've since moved on to a Reverb G2 and I can say you won't regret it Nigel. It brings an entirely new world of immersion to the hobby. All you'll need to complete it is some vibration :)

It seems the the FS world has again become a money pit that it's very hard to say no to..

Hi Brian, well this is my second time entering VR and again, I just cannot find the best settings in X-Plane 11 nor can I get VR working in Steam even though I used it when I had the Rift 'S'. All I get is the desktop running the game and I am not in the car as you would normally be.

I wear glasses and even after putting the spacer in the glasses are still touching the lens so have to use VR without wearing them.

Been doing a lot of research to try and get the sweet spot and moving the lens but as I look out of the cockpit it is well, grainy and all out of focus unlike through the lens videos I have watched.

I will give it a few more days or even a week but if no better then it will be returned I'm afraid. I do like VR but..........Not like this! :dunno:

Regards
Nigel.
