Remember that dogfight in the film Battle of Britain, that only had music to accompany it ? No engine or gun sounds, and no speech ? Well, this video is like that, and very effective. He actually composed and performed the music himself, and while it's electronic, it still complements what you watch. The rarified air, the cold, the smell of rubber and oxygen - I think it works very well.
Since Version 4.5 has been released when attacking the bombers it is more or less a suicide run, even the Stukas and 110 rear gunners will get you more often than before but it is still great to face the challenge and come out alive with just a smokey engine and oil splattered all over the windshield!!

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
Well, as I've reported, I haven't even got through one basic training session yet.
Attacking bombers in "Fighter Squadron" was much as Nige has mentioned. I really don't know how accurate any of these sims are.
Now, that video; there was too much cutting from one scene to the next, and too much sun glare for my liking. Very atmospheric, but not a favourite of mine. Maybe the long, hot days are addling my attitude.

You are not alone Mike, they were my feelings also though I did not bring it up in my reply (know how much effort guys put into a video like that). The sun glare is 'orrible when on-line and against the 109's, just wished they had modelled the effect of sunglasses in this sim but......that would be too much to ask for!!

I like the cutting from one scene to the next. It's like a series of flashbacks - maybe after a dogfight, the things that would pass through your mind as you sat on the grass, trembled at the memory of it, and the sun glaring in your eyes. It shows some imagination, rather than the usual fare of 'This a Me-109. This is a Hurricane. See the 109 shooting at the Hurricane'. I could also say it's an interpretation, but I don't want to get too Melvyn Bragg about it.
Glad I wasn't alone; but credit where it's due.
I thought of mentioning the effort that goes into a video, after all, none of my efforts have been worthy of upload.
Looking at it from that perspective, Paul, yes; artistic interpretation at work. Sorry about the heat-induced grumpiness. Nothing a couple of days below 30° and some mossie-free nights won't fix!
