My dad

Post by calypso »

At the end of the day, my dad always goes around pulling out all the plugs and turning off all the lights.
Very safety conscious.

Probably why he got the sack from air traffic control

Reminds me in a way of the story of a pilot who always flew the same run late at night. He became such a fixture at the airfield that at some point he just radioed "Guess who" when he approached the field. Not to be outdone, the duty air traffic controller switched off all the airfield and runway lights and transmitted "Guess where". ;)

(borrowed from Bob Stevens)
Due to shortages and cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
